The World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) sets to hold its 2nd Open Science Conference at the Kigali Convention Centre (KCC) in Kigali, Rwanda.
The once-in-a-decade event will bring together the climate, environment, and related communities to discuss the latest developments in climate science. The gathering will also explore the transformative actions urgently needed to ensure a sustainable future. As well as highlights advances and challenges in climate research thus bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and societal needs.
A statement announcing the event is published by WCRP on its official website.
According to the statement, the Conference is billed for 23 to 27 October, 2023 and early bird registration ends July 17. The Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA) will host the event behalf of the Rwandan Government.
The theme for the second edition of the conference is “Advancing Climate Science for a Sustainable Future”.
Conference Outcome
Outcome of conference will be translated to the “Kigali Declaration” 2023. The declaration statement will be submitted to the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) billed to place in the United Arab Emirates immediately after the Conference.
