Nigeria through the National Human Rights Commission is working round the clock to improve the country’s human rights index through comprehensive and effective implementation of the extant laws that protects the rights of persons in the country.
On Wednesday, the commission organised a strategic dialogue on accessing legal remedy for victims of human rights violation in the country. The event seized the ongoing 2023 Nigerian Bar Association annual conference, holding in Abuja to bring together stakeholders in the human rights space and eminent legal luminaries.
The objective, according to Nigeria’s Chief Human Rights Officer, Barr. Tony Ojukwu was to develop guidelines that will facilitate the full implementation of the provision of the commission’s establishment Act that places it decision at par with those of high courts in the country.
