The immediate past governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has agreed to submit himself to two Judicial panels of inquiry constituted by his successor to probe his administration.
Ortom’s position was contained in a statement issued by his media aide, Terver Akase, and release to press on Wednesday.
Ortom, who was quoted to have welcomed the move, however, said he will cooperation with panels if the investigation is carried out in line with the rule of law.
He used the statement to call on his appointees to to equally make themselves available whenever called upon to provide clarifications.
He also stressed that his administration was built on transparency, accountability, and good governance, hence, they have nothing to fear.
Former governor Ortom has at several fura reiterated his willingness to submit to any probe of his administration.
This will be first panel constituted by the government of Governor Hyacinth Alia to probe his predecessor. However, in the early days of Alia, he constituted a committee to recover government properties from officials of the Ortom administration.
