2024 EASTER CELEBRATIONS.
MESSAGE BY THE MINORITY CAUCUS, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, NIGERIA.
For ourselves, our families and constituents, we join several well meaning Nigerians to felicitate with Christian faithfuls across the globe, particularly those in Nigeria, on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebrations.
As a caucus, we most heartily rejoice with our Christianb rethren on this auspicious occasion of Easter which is celebrated globally in Christiandom to mark the liberation of mankind through the triumph of our Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ by His death and resurrection.
As we mark this year’s Easter, we urge Christian faithfuls to remind themselves of the essence and purpose of life and reflect deeply on the principles of self sacrifice, tolerance, forgiveness, love for one another, good neighbourliness and peaceful coexistence with others, which are some of the qualities which Jesus Christ represents, died for and resurrected for the redemption of mankind.
We also wish to urge that this Easter will further afford our Christian brethren the opportunity to continue to pray for the unity, peace and progress of our dear country, Nigeria, particularly in view of the numerous economic and security challenges confronting us as a people, including poverty, hunger, unabated killings, abductions, kidnappings and general insecurity that have continued to sweep across the county.
Equally of concern to us is the need for us to remain steadfast and resilient and never to give up our hopes for a better Nigeria. Indeed, we must remain firm, resolute and even more determined as we play our respective parts in the task of building a nation that genuinely meets the yearnings and aspirations of teeming Nigerian masses.
Clearly, we are a resilient people, thus, we remain very confident and positive that God is on our side and with us playing our individual and collective parts, we shall triumph in the end and once again restore our dignity and pride as a people.
Once again, congratulations and happy Easter celebrations.
REP. O. K. CHINDA.
