“The Dawn of Better Days is Near,” House of Representatives to Nigerians on 64th Independence Anniversary

As we proudly mark the 64th Independence Anniversary of our great country, the House of Representatives extends warm greetings to all Nigerians. Today, we celebrate not only our hard-fought freedom but also the rich tapestry of our diverse cultures, the resilience of our people, and the collective spirit that binds us as one great country.

This year, as we reflect on our journey, we acknowledge the challenges many of citizens are facing. Economic difficulties and social struggles have tested our resolve, yet our unwavering strength and determination shine through.

In the face of adversity, we have as a people, demonstrated the remarkable ability to persevere, knowing that “the dawn of better days is near.”

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, in a congratulatory message to Nigerians at home, and in Diaspora on the occasion, notes:

“As we navigate these challenging times, I encourage all citizens to uphold the law and support one another, embodying the spirit of resilience that will propel us towards a brighter future.

Let us unite in support of our governments at all levels, harnessing the power of collective action to drive Nigeria’s resurgence and attainment of greatness,” Speaker Abbas added.

In alignment with our Legislative Agenda (2023 – 2027), the 10th House of Representatives remains committed to legislative actions that will stimulate economic growth, improve living standards, and enhance social welfare for all citizens. We are actively working to create a more equitable society where opportunities abound, ensuring that every Nigerian can thrive.

As we honour the sacrifices of our heroes’ past, let us also reaffirm our commitment to peace, unity, and progress. Together, we can build a future that reflects our shared aspirations—a Nigeria where every voice is heard, every dream is nurtured, and every citizen has the chance to succeed.
