Nigeria’s National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has widen its net of collaboration in order to combat the influx of counterfeit products in the country.
The agency on Thursday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nigerian Customs Service. The move, its says will boost national security.

In a post shared by the agency on its official Facebook Page, NAFDAC say the partnership was formalised at the Comptroller-General of Customs Conference holding in Abuja.
The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye described the partnership as critical to ensuring safe and wholesome products, which Nigerians rely on daily.
On his part, the Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, expressed confidence that this agreement would mark a turning point in curbing the entry of dangerous products into Nigeria.

The Nigeria Customs Service and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering national security and public health by combating the influx of illicit pharmaceutical products and harmful substances.
This strategic partnership was formalised during the 2024 Comptroller-General of Customs Conference at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi highlighted the significance of this collaboration, which follows years of dialogue between the Agencies, emphasising the importance of real-time intelligence sharing. He expressed confidence that this agreement would mark a turning point in curbing the entry of dangerous products into Nigeria and protecting future generations.
The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye described the MoU as vital for ensuring the safety and quality of regulated products, which Nigerians rely on daily. She underlined the threats posed by unregulated products to national security and pledged that this partnership would put an end to such practices, benefiting the entire nation.
