A team of National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control has uncovered 5,347 bags of unregistered MSG at DEE-LITE IMPEX Distribution Co. Ltd.
The warehouse, located on Coca-Cola Road, Sokoto, was sealed for violating NAFDAC regulations.
Raw MSG was being sold directly as a finished product, despite being imported for processing.
The quantity of MSG exceeded the approved amount, prompting NAFDAC to take action.
Unregistered items, including Orange Fruity and Toffeeman Coconut Bites, were seized by NAFDAC officials.
Further inspection at Sokoto Old Market revealed 235 bags of FUFENG Monosodium Glutamate.
The company’s representative has been arrested and is under interrogation, facing regulatory sanctions.
