The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has successfully carried out a compliance operation focused on water production factories across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
During the inspection, NAFDAC officials uncovered a facility in Gwarimpa that was manufacturing and selling unregistered sachet and table water under unsanitary conditions. The unapproved products were immediately confiscated and destroyed on-site, in line with NAFDAC’s strict regulatory policies.
Further inspections in Nyanya led to the issuance of Compliance Directives to several water production facilities. These directives highlight gaps in production practices that must be addressed before the factories can resume operations.
NAFDAC has reiterated its unwavering commitment to consumer safety, urging the public to report any suspected illegal activities or unsafe products. The agency continues to emphasize that its efforts to protect public health will remain steadfast through regulatory oversight and collaboration with citizens to ensure that only safe, registered products reach the market.
