The Lagos State Task Force has dismissed two of its personnel for allegedly stealing phones during a raid operation at a hotel in Gowon Estate.
Abdulraheem Gbadeyan, the Task Force spokesperson, confirmed that the two officers, Fatai Yusuf, 42, and Hammed Garuba, 38, were caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) stealing phones during the operation.
Gbadeyan explained that the officers, who served as paramilitary personnel within the agency, compromised the integrity of the raid with their actions. Following a thorough investigation by the agency’s disciplinary committee, both officers were found guilty.
“Upon confirmation of their guilt, they were summarily dismissed from service and will face immediate prosecution for theft,” Gbadeyan said.
Adetayo Akerele, chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, condemned the officers’ misconduct and emphasized the agency’s commitment to integrity and accountability. He also issued a stern warning to all personnel, stressing that any breach of ethical conduct would result in severe consequences.
The Task Force reiterated that it remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of discipline and justice, ensuring that any action undermining its credibility will be addressed swiftly and decisively.
