Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has inaugurated a 25-bed primary healthcare center and a skills acquisition center in the Tudun Biri community of Igabi Local Government Area (LGA).

This initiative aims to support the recovery of the community, which was devastated by an accidental bombing one year ago.

On December 1, Tudun Biri residents marked the anniversary of the tragic incident in which a Nigerian Army drone mistakenly targeted the community, killing over 100 people during a Muslim celebration on December 3, 2023.

As part of the state’s ongoing efforts to assist the community, Governor Sani distributed essential supplies, including 300 bags of 50kg rice, 300 bags of 50kg maize, and 500 bags of 50kg NPK fertilizer, to Tudun Biri residents and neighboring villages.

Earlier this year, the Kaduna state government established a committee led by Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe to oversee recovery efforts in Tudun Biri. This committee has been instrumental in managing aid donations from the Northern Governors Forum, the National Assembly, the Nigerian Army, and other corporate bodies.

During the inauguration, Governor Sani pledged continued follow-up on the incident, stressing that those responsible for the bombing would be held accountable. He also highlighted the importance of the new healthcare and skills centers.

“The skills acquisition center will help equip Tudun Biri youths with the tools to secure employment and even become employers,” said Sani. “The primary healthcare center will address the health needs of the people and improve their productivity.”

The governor also reassured the community that the state government is constructing homes for those whose houses were destroyed in the bombing and emphasized the importance of security.

“We are working closely with security agencies to enhance the safety of Tudun Biri,” Sani stated. “We will continue to rely on your support as we work to improve the lives of this great community.”
