Former Senator Shehu Sani has expressed disappointment over Nigeria’s mismanagement, following the recovery of 753 duplexes by the EFCC.
Sani reacted to the disclosure, which revealed that the assets were recovered during ASUU’s prolonged strike over unpaid wages. He emphasized the stark contrast between the government’s lavish spending and the country’s financial struggles, particularly in education.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced that the duplexes were part of the largest asset recovery since 2003. The assets, located in an Abuja estate, were seized after a court ruling by Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie. EFCC officials confirmed the estate, measuring 150,500 square meters, once belonged to an unnamed government official.
Sani took to social media to highlight the injustice, stating that 753 duplexes were recovered while ASUU faced financial neglect. He expressed outrage over the country’s failure to prioritize education and its impact on Nigerian students. His comments reflected widespread dissatisfaction with the previous administration’s handling of critical national issues.
