Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, is exploring opportunities for joint research with the National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency (NBRDA).
The university aims to strengthen its biotechnology research through a collaborative partnership with NBRDA. This initiative is expected to foster innovation and capacity building in biotechnology research for national development.

The development was shared by NBRDA on its official Facebook page following a courtesy visit on December 5, 2024.
During the visit, Prof. Anna Malgwi, Director of Chevron Biotechnology Centre at MAU, expressed the university’s interest in joint research projects.
She also congratulated Prof. Abdullahi Mustapha on his reappointment as Director General of NBRDA, highlighting the potential for future collaboration.
Prof. Mustapha welcomed the proposal and assured Prof. Malgwi and her team of NBRDA’s full support for the partnership.
The meeting included a tour of NBRDA’s Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, and Agricultural Biotechnology departments to understand their operations.
Dr. Bello Pariya, Chief Technologist at MAU, joined Prof. Malgwi during the visit to explore the agency’s capabilities.
