The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere from the party due to serious misconduct.
Ugochinyere, a lawmaker representing Ideato North/Ideato South, was found guilty of indiscipline, insubordination, and anti-party activities, party officials confirmed.
A letter from the Ideato LGA chapter, signed by the Chairman, was sent to the state party chairman.
The disciplinary action followed a report from the party’s disciplinary committee that investigated his actions under PDP’s constitutional guidelines.
Ugochinyere had previously been suspended for ignoring party invitations and failing to attend required meetings and disciplinary hearings.
His refusal to honor invitations to meetings led to the initial suspension from his Umuopia/Umukegwu ward in October.
The expulsion was confirmed by the Ideato LGA Executive Committee, who unanimously accepted the findings of the disciplinary committee
.
Ugochinyere was found guilty of consistently making derogatory public statements against the party and its national leadership.
The lawmaker also formed parallelparty structures, undermining the authority of the party at the ward, LGA, and national levels.
PDP leaders expressed that Ugochinyere’s actions had brought the party into public disrepute and violated its core values.
