Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has publicly denied claims that he called for the removal of Secretary to Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, issued a statement on Sunday clarifying the situation and addressing mischief.
According to Kula, certain individuals close to SGF Senator George Akume are spreading false narratives to distract Governor Alia’s progress.
The statement emphasized that a group of appointees, whose views were misinterpreted, did not represent the Governor’s official stance.
Governor Alia, known for his professionalism, refrained from publicly criticizing Akume despite ongoing provocations from his political allies and associates.
Alia’s office clarified that the group’s statement was their personal opinion, not a call sanctioned by the Governor himself.
Kula stressed that Governor Alia remained focused on the development of Benue State and would not be distracted by malicious accusations.
The statement also condemned the continuous political attacks against Alia and reaffirmed his commitment to delivering democratic benefits to the people.
Governor Alia has been consistent in maintaining restraint in the face of political provocations and has avoided retaliatory actions.
Despite the negative media spin, Governor Alia remains dedicated to advancing Benue State’s interests and maintaining his leadership priorities.
