Opeyemi Bamidele, majority leader of the Senate, revealed that President Tinubu and Senate President Akpabio are aligned.
Bamidele spoke at an event marking Akpabio’s 62nd birthday, hosted by Senate spokespersons in Abuja on Monday.
He explained that Tinubu trusts Akpabio’s leadership, which ensures harmony between the presidency and the National Assembly.
Bamidele noted that Akpabio’s leadership allows Tinubu to sleep well, knowing the Senate is in capable hands.
According to Bamidele, the President depends on Akpabio’s decisions and takes his words very seriously in legislative matters.
“We are all proud of Akpabio and support his leadership,” Bamidele added, expressing confidence in their unity.
Senator Adams Oshiomhole praised Akpabio for uniting the Senate and promoting democratic debates despite controversial moments in discussions.
Oshiomhole remarked that Akpabio’s approach strengthens democracy, emphasizing that debates should be robust, not for the faint-hearted.
The comments underline the strong collaboration between President Tinubu and the Senate under Akpabio’s capable leadership.
