The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has ordered the Nigerian Police and DSS to seize copies.

Justice Peter Kekemeke issued the order after granting a temporary injunction barring the distribution of Dele Farotimi’s book.

The order directs security agencies to confiscate both physical and digital copies of Farotimi’s book nationwide.

Farotimi’s controversial book, Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System, sparked a legal dispute involving a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

The court’s injunction remains in effect pending further hearings on the motion for an interlocutory injunction.

An Oyo State High Court issued a similar order, limiting the printing and distribution of the book.

Justice Mufutau Adegbola granted an interim order after an ex-parte application by Senior Advocate Adebayo Adenipekun.

The Oyo court also adjourned the case to January 7, 2025, requiring Farotimi’s legal team to be notified.

The ongoing legal action highlights rising tensions surrounding the book’s critique of Nigeria’s criminal justice system.
