Vice-President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Dubai to attend the inauguration of a $315 million oil facility.
Shettima is representing President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of the fully Nigerian-owned oil production and storage facility.
The facility, owned by Oriental Energy Ltd, is set to be commissioned on December 14, as scheduled.
After the Dubai event, Shettima will travel to Saudi Arabia to perform the lesser hajj (Umrah) in December.
The vice-president is expected to visit the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah from December 16 to 19.
In Jeddah, Shettima is also scheduled to meet the president of the Islamic Development Bank on December 20.
The bilateral meeting will focus on co-financing arrangements for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ phase II).
The talks will aim to enhance coordination of IsDB projects, boosting Nigeria’s agricultural and economic development initiatives.
Shettima is expected to return to Nigeria on or before December 21, concluding his diplomatic and religious engagements.
