Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has arrived in Dubai to inaugurate Oriental Energy’s $315 million Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.
Shettima is in the UAE representing President Bola Tinubu at the key event, marking a significant milestone for the energy sector.
The Vice President landed at Al Maktoum International Airport early on Saturday and was welcomed by senior UAE officials.
UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al Shamsi, along with Ambassador Salem Al Jabri and Ambassador Beatrice Ikeku, were present.
Joining Shettima are Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum and Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, both integral to the delegation.
Dr. Aliyu Moddibo, Shettima’s Special Adviser on General Duties, is also part of the official delegation for the visit.
The inauguration of the FPSO vessel highlights Nigeria’s continued investment in energy infrastructure, boosting offshore oil production.
The advanced FPSO vessel will enhance Nigeria’s offshore oil production, storage, and export capacity, strengthening its energy sector.
This visit underscores the growing partnership between Nigeria and the UAE, particularly in the energy and economic sectors.
Shettima’s engagements in Dubai are expected to deepen collaboration between the two nations, focusing on expanding bilateral ties.
