Economic Growth Through Local Production and Agriculture
Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia emphasized that the launch of Zeva Premium Lager is a significant step towards economic diversification. He said the brewery, by processing local agricultural raw materials, would create new industries and generate substantial revenue for the state. The brewery’s establishment is part of Benue’s broader vision to transform the state into an industrial hub, creating wealth and job opportunities for its people.
Governor Alia also highlighted the brewery’s potential to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs. These include positions in farming, production, marketing, and distribution, all crucial to improving the livelihoods of local communities. “This brewery is not just about brewing beer; it’s about fostering a sustainable value chain,” Alia remarked during the unveiling ceremony.
The state’s agricultural sector stands to benefit significantly from the brewery’s operations. Farmers will have a stable market for their produce, especially grains, which will be used in the production of Zeva Premium Lager. This creates an important link between agriculture and manufacturing, boosting both sectors simultaneously. Alia also mentioned that the brewery’s success would lead to a rise in the state’s GDP, further cementing its role in the economic development of Benue.
Innovation and Job Creation at the Food Basket Brewery
Raymond Asemakaha, the Managing Director/CEO of Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC), underscored that Zeva Premium Lager represents innovation and resilience. According to Asemakaha, the brewery’s establishment is a testament to the indomitable spirit of the people of Benue. “Zeva Lager will contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the state by creating jobs and generating government revenue,” he added.
The Food Basket Brewery, which will produce Zeva Premium Lager and other assorted brands, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to ensure high production standards. Asemakaha noted that BIPC is committed to driving initiatives that uplift the people of Benue. The company’s success is expected to create long-term economic opportunities, further strengthening the state’s industrial base.
Governor Alia also reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting BIPC. This includes providing the necessary resources, policies, and infrastructure to ensure the sustained growth of the brewery and its positive impact on the state’s economy. The launch is seen as part of a broader strategy to revive moribund industries, establish new ones, and create a business-friendly environment for investors.
The Zeva Premium Lager launch is a clear indication of Benue’s determination to capitalize on its local resources. The state government is focused on leveraging these resources to build an economy that is diverse, resilient, and sustainable. With the establishment of the Food Basket Brewery, Benue aims to attract more investors and create a more robust industrial ecosystem.
As the brewery starts operations, Benue is set to see an influx of new business opportunities. The project is expected to stimulate local economies and encourage other businesses to follow suit. Governor Alia concluded his speech by reaffirming that the state government will continue to create a favorable environment for investors and foster initiatives that promote economic growth.
Zeva Premium Lager’s launch is just one step in the state’s broader agenda to revitalize its economy. By leveraging its natural resources and encouraging innovation, Benue aims to pave the way for a prosperous future that benefits all its citizens.
