Governor Mutfwang, speaking to a crowd of vibrant youth on the eve of Christmas, declared 2025 as the Year of Tech Advancement for Plateau. He expressed excitement about the future of tech in the state and emphasized the importance of innovation, collaboration, and digital empowerment.
Drawing inspiration from successful models like the Timbuktoo Initiative in Lagos and global tech hubs such as Sweden, Mutfwang outlined ambitious plans to enhance the tech ecosystem in Plateau. The governor assured the youth that his administration is committed to improving coordination and support for the sector, acknowledging past gaps.
“We are digitizing governance with real-time performance systems, expanding high-speed internet access, and laying the groundwork for a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) center,” Mutfwang said. These initiatives aim to remove barriers, create jobs, and ensure that tech innovators have the resources they need to succeed.
Governor Mutfwang also highlighted plans for the establishment of a state-of-the-art tech hub and the introduction of zero taxes on right of way. These efforts are designed to foster a more supportive environment for tech businesses, enabling them to grow and thrive in Plateau.
The governor commended the resilience of Plateau’s tech community and thanked tech leader Mr. Tolu Arogunmati for his contributions during the event. “Together, we will make Plateau a leader in Nigeria’s tech revolution,” Mutfwang said, inspiring hope and determination among the youth gathered at the event.
