Gov Ododo Reaffirms Commitment to Kogi State’s Development

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the rapid development of the state.

He made the statement on December 26, 2024, while inaugurating the Nyamkpo Community Electrification Project in Bassa Local Government Area. Represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, the governor emphasized the importance of electricity in driving economic prosperity and development.

Governor Ododo stressed that his administration is fully dedicated to providing critical infrastructure for the people of Kogi State. He highlighted ongoing projects such as the rehabilitation of Dekina-Bassa Road and the construction of the Shintaku-Lokoja bridge. According to Ododo, these projects will significantly improve connectivity and contribute to the economic growth of the region.

The governor further explained that the reliable supply of electricity is vital for local businesses to thrive. He noted that consistent power would eliminate the dependence on expensive diesel and petrol generators. Addressing concerns in Kogi East, he assured residents that efforts are being made to resolve the region’s electricity challenges.

Governor Ododo also mentioned the government’s focus on improving the welfare of Kogi State workers. He emphasized that the improvement of salaries and pension payments marks just the beginning of the state’s development plans. With the fight against insecurity gaining momentum, Ododo assured residents that many more improvements are on the horizon.

In his remarks, Chief Engr. Ndah Usman, leader of the Nyamkpo Community Development Union, expressed gratitude to the state government. He praised the Nyamkpo electrification project as a solution to the area’s long-standing electricity problems. Usman also pledged the community’s support for the current administration’s developmental efforts.

The event also saw the Deputy Governor, Joel Salifu, visit the palace of the ETSU of Bassa Nge Kingdom. During his visit to Gboloko, Bassa Local Government Area, Salifu sought royal blessings for the government’s projects. He was accompanied by several dignitaries, including members of the State House of Assembly and local government officials.

The inauguration of the Nyamkpo electrification project represents a significant step in Governor Ododo’s vision for Kogi State’s sustained progress. Through strategic infrastructural development, the governor is determined to make life better for all residents, ensuring no community is left behind in the state’s growth.
