Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has praised the political legacy of Senator George Akume as he marks his 71st birthday.
In a statement issued on Friday, December 27, 2024, Governor Alia extended warm wishes to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). The governor celebrated Akume’s outstanding contributions to Benue State and the nation at large.

Governor Alia expressed gratitude to God for allowing Akume to celebrate another year in good health and high spirits. He acknowledged the immense grace of God in Akume’s life, which has facilitated his numerous achievements in politics and public service. The Governor highlighted Akume’s distinguished service as a former Governor, Senator, and Minister.
Alia described Akume as a symbol of dedication and resilience, noting his significant role in the development of the Benue North West senatorial district. He appreciated Akume’s service to the people of Benue and Nigeria. The Governor also expressed admiration for the former governor’s current role as the SGF.
The statement, which was signed by Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, concluded with a prayer for Akume’s continued good health, long life, and divine fulfillment of his aspirations. Governor Alia expressed confidence that Akume will continue to offer valuable service to the country.
