Muhammad Assumes Office as 29th Commissioner of Police

Mr. Shettima Jauro Muhammad has officially taken over as the 29th Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State.

Muhammad succeeds AIG Shehu Umar Nadada, who was recently promoted to Assistant Inspector General of Police.

The announcement of his appointment was made on Friday by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer.

Muhammad hails from Mubi North Local Government Area in Adamawa State.

He holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Physical and Health Education from the University of Maiduguri.

The new commissioner joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.

Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in various policing capacities and leadership roles.

Before his current appointment, Muhammad served as Acting Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State.

He also worked as Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia.

Muhammad was previously Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, in both Zone 8 Lokoja and Gombe State Command.

With his vast experience in law enforcement, CP Muhammad is expected to bring innovation and leadership to the Nasarawa police force.

His leadership will be crucial in addressing security challenges and fostering stronger community relations.

His appointment is seen as a positive step for the state’s law enforcement system.
