The National Assembly has announced a one-week extension to its resumption of plenary sessions, shifting the original date from Tuesday, April 29, 2025, to Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
In a formal notice issued on Monday by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, stated that the decision was made to enable Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members to fully participate in the upcoming Workers’ Day celebration on May 1 and attend to pressing constituency matters.
“This extension allows Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members to participate in the Workers’ Day ceremony and attend to other engagements in their constituencies,” Ogunlana said.
He further urged members of both chambers and the general public to take note of the revised resumption date. While acknowledging the shift might cause some disruption, Ogunlana expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and understanding.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding,” he added.
The National Assembly had initially been scheduled to reconvene on April 29 after a recess.
